After a one year hiatus Darling Pearls & Co re-opens Darling’s Attic with a show by and international group of artists. The gallery, a private apartment that previously offered art residencies that culminated in solo exhibitions, is now a more permanent art installation. Darling’s Attic is a living environment, featuring artworks by various artists. With the exception of Cultivate Your Inner Whore – The Doctoral Edition, a permanent installation by Itziar Bilbao Urrutia, the pieces will change along with Darling’s ongoing curatorial and exhibition projects.
The installation’s title, Fictophilia, is a term that has become popular in online environments. It alludes to strong and lasting feelings of love, infatuation, or desire for one or more fictional characters. The artworks exhibited are all based in literature: be it literary fiction, scientific literature, news or law texts. They are all creative written word narratives. Some of the work comes from past exhibitions at Darling’s, some are new. I’d tell you about them but this time you’ll just have to come see it.
